Dr. Dilip Abdul Khadar has been an esteemed member of Aster Al Raffah Hospital, Muscat, since 2017. With extensive experience as an Intensivist and Internist, he holds licensure to practice in Oman.
Presently, he serves as the Medical Director for medical services at the new Aster Royal Al Raffah Hospital, a position he has held for more than two years.
Dr. Dilip’s educational journey began with a post-graduation in Internal Medicine from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Hospital in Chennai.
He further honed his skills in critical care through advanced training at MIOT International Hospital, Chennai.
His expertise in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) management is unparalleled. An accomplished speaker, Dr. Dilip was the sole Intensivist from Oman’s private hospital sector invited to the Oman Society of Anaesthesia and Critical Care (OSACC) annual conference in 2019. There, he delivered an insightful presentation on Perioperative Renal Failure.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Dilip managed critically ill patients in Oman. His tireless dedication, alongside his team, resulted in saving countless lives in the ICU, earning him the prestigious IMA COVID Warrior Award.
Dr. Dilip’s vision is deeply invested in establishing the new ICU at Aster Royal Al Raffah Hospital. He adeptly leads a team comprising young and seasoned specialists from various subspecialties, creating an ICU that epitomizes tertiary-level care.
He has played an active role in the establishment of multiple new sub specialties and branding of other departments along with the core team.
- Dr.Dilip is highly experienced in Intensive Care Unit management which includes Critical Care medicine & Acute medicine, medical emergencies.
- While he is available at the Outpatient department as a meticulous Physician in Internal Medicine, at the same time he is an aggressive Intensivist skilled in procedures like insertion of central venous catheters, chest tube drains, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, intubation & mechanical ventilation of hemodynamically unstable cases when required, and continuation of care for critically ill patients which are a routine at our ICU.

Through his relentless efforts, the hospital received two notable International awards: the ‘Pandemic Care in Mutrah – Oman’ from the International Hospital Federation, Switzerland, and the ‘COVID-19 Management Initiative of the Year – Oman’ from Health Care Asia Awards in 2021.
